From times immemorial Kashmir has been the abode of great mystic legacy. Islam in Kashmir flourished through the same message represented by a galaxy of Mystics coming from distinct backgrounds, especially from Central Asia. These Mystics changed the landscape of Kashmir and built a new religio-spiritual culture, which was a unique combination of Islamic spiritual ethos (Ihsan) and the regional mystical ethos of the Rishis of Kashmir. At the end of the 9^th century, Sufism was introduced as a ‘Softer’ version of Islam which promoted the idea of ‘religious humanism’. It entered Kashmir with Hazrat Bulbul Shah of the Suharwardi order who visited the valley during the rule of King Suhadev in the thirteenth century. After him, the mission was carried forward by Sufis like Sayed Jalal-U-Din of Bukhara and Sayed Taj-Ud-Din, who propagated it in the reign of Sultan Shihab-Ud-Din (1354-73). But the most influential of the Sufis saints who gave sustainability to this spiritual mission were Mir Sayed Ali Hamadani, Sheikh-Ul-Alam, and Sheikh Hamza Mukhdoom RA. In this particular booklet, I have tried to highlight the role of the Spiritual family of Sheikh Hamza Mukhdoom RA. How he and his disciples gave continuity to this sacred mission of his predecessors and added new heights to this Islamic Mystical Culture of Kashmir by establishing new socio-educational and spiritual institutions in Kashmir It has been seen that people in general and our young generation, in particular, are unaware of Islamic personalities, their role, and contribution towards our society. My sole intention behind this work is to introduce my future generation to such personalities and make them familiar with their works and contributions that played a pivotal role in shaping our religious, social, and economic development. If Allah blesses, I have an intention to write and compile the life stories of other saints who had/have an association with other two spiritual families as follows
