Description

The basis for this text book originally stemmed from my passion for developing better methods prevention of diseases and novel methods in treatment of various diseases. As the world moves into the digital age, generating vast amount of data and born digital content, there will be a greater need to access legacy material created with outdated technology. It is my passion to not only find out, but to develop tools to break down barriers of accessibility for future generation. In truth, I could not have achieved my current level of success without a strong support group. First of all, my parents, who supported me with love and understanding. And secondly, my committee members, each of whom has provided patient advice and guidance throughout the research process. Thank you all for your unwavering support. Pharmaceutics is the branch of scientific discipline concerned with the process of creating the dosage form (such as a pill for oral administration or a powder for intravenous injection) of a therapeutic that is to be used by patients. It encompasses drug formulation and manufacturing. The science builds on many sub-fields, including biology, biochemistry, physics, epidemiology, pharmacology, medical sociology. Applied health sciences endeavor to better understand and improve human health through applications in areas such as health education, biomedical engineering, biotechnology and public health. Overall, pharmaceutical companies play a pivotal role in helping patients and communities. They provide more than potential cures and lifesaving treatments; they also create fulfilling jobs and fuel the global economy. The purpose of the pharmaceutical industry is to bring patients innovative new therapies that help them to live longer, healthier lives. Over the course of the past 50 years, this industry has tackled some of the leading causes of disease and life-threatening illnesses. A pharmaceutical company, or drug company, is a commercial business licensed to research, develop, market and/or distribute drugs, most commonly in the context of healthcare. They can deal in generic and/or brand medications.
