The research is undertaken to study and explore the concept of Development of automated gender classification system through fingerprint biometric. Biometrics is measurable physiological and/or behavioral characteristics which can be used to verify the identity of an individual. Biometrics technology provides high level security and cannot be stolen. Biometric traits such as fingerprints have a long and successful history in forensics, the use of these traits in automated personal recognition systems is fairly recent accomplishment. The most widely used biometric is the fingerprint. Fingerprint is made of a number of ridges and valley on the surface of finger that are unique to each human. It is used in forensic science, going to identification and criminal investigations. Gender classification from fingerprints is an important step in forensic anthropology in order to identify the gender of a criminal and minimize the list of suspect’s search. The purpose of this research work is determining possibility of gender distribution in Fingerprint, developing Gender Classification Techniques, to study Fingerprint Gender classification Systems and also developing Automated Fingerprint Based Gender Classification Techniques.
