SUTLEJ YAMUNA (un) LINK Story of an Epic Water Dispute between Punjab and Haryana

Born at village Chattar in Haryana, having practically no basic facility except a Government High School where I studied upto my Sixth Standard. I went to school and became used to go to school regularly because my mother, though completely illiterate ensured that I did not miss the school. Thanks to my parents that I studied. From 7th Standard onwards I studied in The Hindu School of Kaithal and perhaps the lone student of my class who, after higher secondary, got admission in engineering at REC Kurukshetra in 1966. After graduating in Mechanical Engineering in 1971, I began my journey in the Irrigation Department of Haryana.
